Documents Required on Exam Day
Mandatory Document:
- Original valid Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC)
If CNIC is expired or lost:
You may be allowed to sit for the exam provisionally by the Venue Incharge on producing any one of the following:
| Document | Condition |
|---|---|
| Original CNIC (expired) | Expired not more than 6 months before the exam date |
| Original valid Passport | Must be currently valid |
| Original Computerized Domicile Certificate | Must bear the candidate's photograph |
Important: This provisional permission requires a written undertaking that you will produce a valid original CNIC at the time of interview. Failure to do so will result in cancellation of candidature.
Prohibited Items in the Examination Hall
The following items are strictly prohibited inside the examination hall:
- 📱 Mobile telephones
- 📟 Electronic gadgets (smartwatches, calculators, etc.)
- 📚 Books and study materials
- 👜 Purses and bags
- 🔫 Arms and ammunition
Warning: Bringing any of these items can lead to disqualification and potential legal action.
Negative Marking
PPSC employs negative marking in MCQ-type written tests:
0.25 marks are deducted for each wrong answer in Multiple Choice / Objective / MCQ papers.
What this means in practice:
- If a correct answer gives you 1 mark, a wrong answer deducts 0.25 marks
- Leaving a question blank results in 0 marks (no deduction)
- Random guessing is risky - only answer if you can eliminate at least 2 options
Strategy tip: If you can confidently eliminate 2 out of 4 options, it's statistically worth guessing between the remaining two.
Results
How long does it take for results?
There is no fixed duration - it varies depending on the number of candidates:
| Paper Type | Expected Duration |
|---|---|
| MCQ-type paper | Approximately 10 days |
| Subjective-type paper | Approximately 30 days |
Answer Keys
PPSC does not provide or upload Answer Keys of question papers. There is no policy of the Commission for uploading Answer Keys.
However, Detailed Marks Certificates (DMC) are uploaded for candidate information.
